I departed Hiker Heaven with MacGyver and Ryan in the morning, and my hat flew off on the truck ride back into town. But we were all ready to head out, so I left it behind; I’m sure another hiker will make great use out of it. Clouds provided shade from the sun, which made the climb out of Agua Dulce far more bearable. We arrived in Casa de Luna in the evening to a crowd of hikers. Smokey welcomed us and gave us the rundown: pick out a Hawaiian shirt to wear, find a cozy space in the Manzanita forest backyard, and clean up in preparation for Taco Salad dinner in the evening.
We chatted away with a lively gathering of hikers including Hardtime and the twins, Justin and Adam, before enjoying a stupendous dinner. Even with my endless appetite, I was stuffed. The Andersons certainly live up to their reputation of hospitality.
